Convert from existing Password Generator script?
« on: March 26, 2006, 06:43:06 AM »
I've been using this password generator script. But even after playing with all the PasswordMaker settings, I can't get it to generate the same passwords. I'd love to switch to PasswordMaker, but I don't want to have to reset all my many passwords.

Anyone have any advice?

Would it be possible to add a setting for compatibility with this other similar system, which is widely used and even has a greasemonkey script associated with it?

Nic's script is much more simplistic than PasswordMaker. The best you could try is switch the settings to:

Characters: 0123456789abcdef
Hash Algorithm: MD5

but even then I doubt it'll be the same.

I don't agree that Nic's script is widely used. It's widely known, yes. Unless more people ask for a compatibility settings, I'm hestitant to add it because the time required to do that would be better spent on features which lots of people have already requested.
