Feature Request List for Internet Explorer Edition
« on: February 02, 2006, 11:23:25 PM »
What Is This?
This topic contains a list of all features requested for the Passwordmaker Internet Explorer Edition. If you'd like to add a feature to this list, please post a new topic in this forum (instead of replying to this topic). We'll discuss the request and, after we understand it, gladly add it to this list. Most anything within reason can be requested.

Voting
Each feature request has a number next to it. This is a count of the number of people who have voted for that request. Everyone can vote for up to 3 requests at a time. After one of your requests is implemented, you can re-assign that vote to another request. You may not vote more than once for the same feature.  Requests with the most votes are likely to be implemented first, although requests which are very easily to implement are often given higher priority than their vote count would suggest.

If you want to know more about a feature, click on a feature to go to the original topic where that feature was requested.  If it wasn't requested in these forums, it is noted and there is no associated link.  If you still don't understand a feature, feel free to ask about it in that topic (or in this topic if the request was by some other means).

You don't have to be registered to vote!
Guests are encouraged to vote, but please don't spam this topic up with votes. :)

It's not being worked on at the moment. It's postponed, but I wouldn't say indefinitely. Can I ask why you are so interested in it?

I've read an article in a dutch PC magazine. They are very enthousiastic about the program.

Furthermore I think this is the only software I know where you can access your programms by solid passwords without any registry in a database.

Only problem I use ie instead of Firefox

Hm... I see the problem! Well, check back periodically to see if the IE version has come along. Can you point me to the dutch PC magazine where PasswordMaker is discussed? I'd like to link to it.

thanks,
eric

It's in the Dutch version of the PCM magazine  from February 2006.

The magazine is not available on internet anymore.

Here's a copy of the article:

Got it. There was nothing there before but a big blank space. I suppose the page hadn't fully loaded. If you're so inclined, we'd love a translation to English! No worries if you don't have the time, though.

Thanks very much,
Eric

Passwordmaker

Passwordmaker is an browser-extension which is available for Internet explorer and Firefox. With passwordmaker you can use passwords easily and safe without the need of remembering them. Passwordmaker doesn’t use, like many other products, an encrypted database, but it generates the passwords on the spot with a combination of a main- password and the URL of the website. Even if someone cracks one of the passwords the rest of the passwords are still safe. Because the main-password can’t be retrieved, which is done by using a form of irreversible encryption. This is the way to use passwords safely and not having to remember a large number of impossible key-combinations. Here’s another tip: Adjust the Internet explorer version to the md5-algorithm in order to generate the same passwords as in the Firefox-version.
