Reverse Password Generation
« on: May 09, 2011, 03:29:15 PM »
Background:
I have been using this great add-on for some time now.  I like the idea of calculating passwords but with each web site imposing odd rules you end up with sizable auto populate entries with hard passwords.  Then web sites change the forms which breaks the auto populate feature.  But the software finds the password field and now populates it with the generated password.

Question:
Is there a way to a generate a value I can plug in the 'Modifier' field so that for the current master password, software will correctly generate the desired password?

You can use the modifier (trying random values) to get a password that generates the correct password for the rules.

There's also the tip somewhere on the forums in which you can edit the character set field. So if you needed a number, then you can replace a character that is in use with a number.
