Hod do I set the password length, algorithm, etc.
« on: September 01, 2008, 09:31:24 AM »
Hi!

How can I set various things like password length, algorithm, etc.
Do I need to do this via import/export or is there a GUI for it somewhere?

Switch to advanced view, then edit the default settings.

I really hate how something that should be common requires switching to advanced view.

Ah, doubleclicking on the account! Thanks!
I think advanced is to not confuse "The stupid user"(TM)

The problem with PasswordMaker's design however is the requirement for "The stupid user"(TM) to use advanced view in order to setup the default settings in of itself.

Agreed. That is what happens when you try to please everyone. You get a crappy interface.

Actually, it's just a result of programmers making an interface for the general public (and is the main reason Linux is not mainstream)

While it may not be a good interface (possibly, it will still have people asking questions that is a result of me being a programmer making the thing), the Desktop Edition seems to be a good way to handle being more user friendly than the Firefox extension. At least there's no Advanced view to scare off "The stupid user"(TM) before even finding the thing to change. Too bad functionality of it is incomplete :-\
