PM Populates User ID but not Password
« on: April 18, 2007, 04:59:09 AM »
I use PM and FF 2.0.0.3.

PM populates a number of my user ids and passwords with no problem. However one site seems to have a way of blocking the password population.

When I access the site the user id is populated but not the password although it appears that a series of ***** flash across the password field but it remains blank.

I can copy and paste the password and it works.

So some sites block PM passwords?

The site is https://www.us.army.mil/

Thanks,

Jim

What version of PM are you using? It seems to work for me.

Hi Jim,

It's been our sort of de-facto practice to not support each and every website out there for PasswordMaker auto-population. This is because auto-population was never intended as PasswordMaker's primary purpose, and because there are billions of web sites out there....

You are encouraged to continue using copy/paste and/or context-menu (right-click in the password field).

Hope you understand,
eric

Eric,

Not a problem. I know how to populate the field via the right click process. I mentioned it as something I thought might be of interest or because I was doing something wrong. I do see the ************ appear for a second and then disappear so PM is populating the field until something clears it.

Thanks for your time,

Jim
