same passwords for two different urls

hi I have searched most of the topics but could not find help for my problem.
my problem is that i login to orkut using my gmail account so that i need both
the passwords to be the same.but using the default seetings means i get different
passwords for both because of different urls. how do i get the same passwords for both? i
don't have any custom accounts and autopopulate is on..

btw, password maker is a great tool..big thanks for coming up with it..

To expand on miquelfire's response...

Create an account, add two different URL patterns, one for each URL, then decide what you want to use in the 'Use the following URL to calculate the generated password' box. this can be anything, by the way, it doesn't *have* to be an actual URL.

Eric - this reminds me of something I've been meaning to bring up...

Since this field doesn't actually have to be a URL, and now that we can use multiple URL patterns for matching, doesn't it make sense to 'generify' this box? Maybe something like:

'Password Calculation string:', with a help/tooltip explaining what it is used for?

Of course, the default should always be the current URL...

shilpa--as tanstaafl wrote (and miquel forgot?), you don't need two accounts. One account with multiple URL patterns -- one for gmail and one for orkut -- works fine.

Personally I don't think it would be any more confusing than URL, when in fact, it can be anything. In fact, I think labeling it 'URL' when it can be anything is itself misleading. This is why I suggested also providing a tooltip explaining it more clearly.

Not a big deal though... just a cosmetic issue...

But my point is, this is not descriptive of what can actually be out into this field - it can be *anything*, it is not limited to a URI....

For the Firefox extension is sort of limited in usefulness to URLs right now anyway. For the most part, you only use it on web page forms (somewhat include client software that use some web page based login anyway)

One of us is misunderstanding the other... maybe it is me?

Since I can enter 'xyz' into the 'Use the following URL to calculate the generated password:' field, I'm not sure what you mean. Yes, currently it *defaults* to the current URL, but that doesn't mean you can't replace it with something else - I do it all the time (another security measure).

Wel, since I was very clear about which field I was talking about:

'Use the following URL to calculate the generated password:'

And I specifically referred to it by its full name (as above), I'm not sure how you may have gotten the impression I was talking about anything else...
