Hello,
which is the corresponding Coolkey for german keyboard layouts? Alt+' doesn't work, and there seems no way of changing the Coolkey to another shortcut. CTRL+Ö does open the options dialog for me, but I'm stumped with the Coolkey.
Any help?
Bye, Zamara

Hello Zamara,
The key looks like this: (http://passwordmaker.org/help/graphics/keytilda8da.gif) on US-UK-English keyboards. Its ASCII code is 96.
We have a German user of PasswordMaker who is active in the forums--Romeo. Perhaps he can provide more advice. I'll email him, asking him to post here.
Regards,
Eric

Hi Zamara, I just received an email from Eric askin me to see if I might be able to help. However, I have never used a Geman keyboard, since I live here in the US, now.
Eric, I am not sure what the ASCII code for this key combination is. If the key shown on the image in your post doesn't work, may be Zamara could use the <alt> keypad combination, such as <alt>0252 for ü, or <alt>0246 for ö, and the like.

The ASCII code for the symbol is 96. I'll see if I can find out what symbol this maps to on a German keyboard.
Thanks for your help Romeo,
Eric

It looks to me that it would be <alt>0096. I just tried it an it gives you the desired key, as shown right here `. However, as I was trying that, it came to mind that you it would have to be some other ASCII character, because the how would you press <alt> and then <alt>0096 at the same time?
So, the combination of <alt> and ` should be a different code all together, such as <ctrl>A is ASCII-1, I believe.

I think I found an answer.
This (http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/keyboards/kbdgr.htm) page (IE only) shows the German keyboard looks like this:
but if you press SHIFT, the keyboard changes to this:
Notice the key to the left of BackSp is the CoolKey. So on a German keyboard, my guess is that CoolKey is ALT-SHIFT-´.

there seems no way of changing the Coolkey to another shortcut.
As discussed in the FAQ (http://passwordmaker.org/faq.html), you can change the CoolKey to any shortcut by using the KeyConfig (http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/more-info/keyconfig) extension.
Install the KeyConfig Extension. Scroll down to the PasswordMaker entry and change the shortcut to anything you like. Changes won't take effect until you restart Firefox/Mozilla.
Hope that helps,
Eric

Hi,
Alt+Shift+´ does work, but only every second time. So I have to press the Coolkey-combination twice for the passwort field being filled.
I think I'll give the keyconfig extension a try.
Thanks for all your help.
