Title: Thunderbird extension
Post by: dbw784 on April 04, 2007, 06:15:19 PM
I don't know about other people, but I use passwordmaker for its portability. I no longer have to worry about storing my passwords on a USB drive to use on another computer, I can simply use the passwordmaker extension on my portable firefox. However, if I want to access my email via portable thunderbird (since most webmail doesn't support GPG), I have to open firefox, type in my master password and copy generated password to the clipboard so I can enter it into the thunderbird prompt. Yes, I know Thunderbird can store my passwords, but that is exactly what I don't want to do. A similar extension for Thunderbird would allow me to easily and securely access my email accounts using passwordmaker. Anyone else feel the same way? Let's vote this one up.

I think thats a great idea - but we'll have to see what Eric says...

If Eric says it is feasible, I'll add it to the Feature Request list...

I'm hoping that since there are a lot of extensions that work with both, this won't be too difficult.

Ok, added to the FR with a vote from dbw784 - and I changed one of my votes to this one too, since I really like the idea...

Thanks Eric!
