Title: 'Show Asterisk' button behaves kind of weird
Post by: Romeo on July 21, 2005, 01:20:02 PM
Eric,

The 'Show Asterisk' button behaves kind of weird.  When I select to show Asterisks, and have the password stored in memory, but not on disk, then, after opening FF again after having closed it and removed the MPW from RAM, it asks me for a password when I click this button.  However, since the MPW no longer exists, I'll just enter a blank PW and it works.

I think that if you choose to hide the Asterisks, It should be hidden only as long as there is a password available.  So, when I reopen FF, after having erased the MPW from RAM, it should just revert back to the default setting of not hiding it.

Also, when I choose to hide the PW, it shows me this button instead.  However, on the basic settings screen, it shows the blank PW field, which might be a little confusing.  I think this button should also be shown there.

Regards,

Romeo

P.S. I'll probably have a few more comments a little later on.

Hi Romeo,
I moved your topic to a new thread in this forum since it's not really 0.8-related.

I think the bug you're reporting is described here (http://forums.passwordmaker.org/index.php?showtopic=111), no?

I realize Show Asterisks/Hide Master Password Field has a number of bugs, and they will be fixed before the next release.

Regards,
Eric

Eric,

That is correct.  But I think there is more to in.  That is that it is not hiding the PW in the basic otions dialog.  But you can read all about it in my other posts.

Romeo, have all these problems been fixed with 0.7.2 now?

Eric,

It seems that they have.  Not that I use this option, but they have been fixed.  -  Thank you.
