Title: option to use domain + subdomains only for IP addresses
Post by: Bugman on August 31, 2009, 01:45:14 PM
if you use "domain" only to generate your passwords, when you go to an IP address like 192.168.1.1, the password will only be generated from "1.1". in a case like this, i'd like the password to be generated from the full IP address.

so it would be nice if we could use "domain" by default, but also have a checkbox option that says "use domain + subdomains for IP addresses"

thanks!

Hi Bugman,

I don't know if that is worth the effort... you can do this manually for this kind of situation by creating a custom account and entering the full IP in the 'Use the following text...' text box, but I'm assuming you don't want to do that...

It's 'easy' to add this type of feature. I put easy in quotes because of the fact that all editions need to be updated to support this.

This is precisely what the Special Domains tab is for. Create a new domain "192.168.1.1" and you should be in luck.

Thanks but that doesn't seem to work for me.

special domain 192.168.1.1
generates text using 1.1

special domain 1.1
generates text using 168.1.1

special domain 168.1.1
generates text using 1.1
