The characters sets in the add-on drop-down should match the set available online.
I tried to select an alphanumeric set in the add-on, and it wasn't available. I cut & pasted from source of the online version, in order to make sure that passwords generated by the add-on matched the online version.

I have version 1.7.2 at work and at home, and both have only six options in the drop-down:
[A-Z][a-z][0-9][`-/]
[0-9][a-f]
[0-9]
[A-Z][a-z]
[`-/]
random

And they are the same? If so, then I don't understand what you're asking for...

No, they are not the same. The previous post listed everything available in the Firefox add-on. If you were to examine the online version, you would see:
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789`~!@#$%^&*()_-+={}|[]\:";<>?,./
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789
0123456789abcdef
0123456789
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
`~!@#$%^&*()_-+={}|[]\:"'<>?,./
The difference between the two is that the add-on has a 'random' choice, and the on-line version has the alphabet in upper and lower case with digits.
The alphanumeric set needs to be added to the add-on.

Ok, ur right... I never use the online version, so never noticed...
Yeah, I agree they should be the same...
It will be easier to change the online version to match what is in the extension, but that will be up to Eric...

I hope the alphanumeric choice is NOT removed from the online version. It's the safest choice for most sites.

I never understood how useful the random feature is for the simple fact, if you lose your RDF, how do you recreate the character set?

I agree, but to be honest, I never even knew it was there... maybe I saw it, but never looked closely at it...
