Title: Konfabulator - PasswordMaker 1.1 and CPU Usage
Post by: Peterrrrr on December 30, 2005, 01:53:27 AM
I just noticed that the PasswordMaker widget in my Konfabulator install is using about 5% of my CPU about once every second. It goes 0%, ~5%, 0%, ~5% and so on all day long.

I have Konfab 2.1.1 and PasswordMaker widget 1.1, Win XP Pro SP2. It's a totally default install, running in Konspose (hidden most of the time) mode.

Is there some reason for this?  Any way to make it stop that? It's not slowing me down, but it just seems PasswordMaker ought not to do anything like that when I'm not using it.

Thanks for the great software!

:)
Peter

It might be Konfabulator doing do that, not PasswordMaker. Unless PasswordMaker is trying to see if the clipboard needs to be cleared when it's not supposed to.

Hi Peterrrrr,

I can't think of a reason for that. Would you like to try PasswordMaker Widget 1.2? It works well on Windows, but not on Mac yet so it hasn't been released. Perhaps the problem won't be there with 1.2.

Every Konfabulator widget runs as a separate process. Good idea, though.

Right - the other widgets I run do not exhibit this behavior.

Thanks for the offer. Sure, I will try 1.2.

OK. You can get it here (https://passwordmaker.org/konfabulator.html). Please let me know if the problem is still there.

Thanks,
