Mozilla 3.5.2
« on: August 04, 2009, 02:28:23 PM »
Mozilla just updated to 3.5.2 on my Windows XP machine. Now PasswordMaker doen't work for my banking website. I use the auto-populate for the user. Passwordmaker still works perfectly on the same banking website with Mozilla 3.0.12 on a Windows 2000 machine. PasswordMaker has the same settings on both machines. I've created a new profile in Mozilla 3.5.2, but problem remains. Must be a bug, where Mozilla 3.5.2 doesn't allow PasswordMaker 1.7.2 to work on some websites. If there is a work around, please let me know.

There has already been a similar bug reported for netflix.com... hopefully when Eric finds/fixes that one it will fix yours too, but it would be helpful if you could provide a link to the problem bank login page so he can test it.

For future reference... generic 'doesn't work on site X' reports are useless without providing a link to site X.

With banking sites, you can't get to the password part unless you have an account, if they're doing that annoying secret question thing before you even enter your password. (The reason I fixed the bug myself was because of the banking site I goto, and like I said, there's that secret question thing before you even enter your password)

Oh, I had forgotten you had already fixed that bug...

Eric - any chance of a new release soon?

Thx Miquel (and Eric)

New version of PasswordMaker is available -- 1.7.3 beta 1. Here are the release notes:

http://passwordmaker.org/Firefox/Mozilla/SeaMonkey/Flock/Netscape/Beta

I tried uploading the beta to that page, but get this error: "Files of the MIME type "application/zip" are not allowed to be uploaded."

So for now, you can download it from here:

I think you need to upload directly to the site. But I'm not sure we support xpi files from not being viewed as a wiki page yet.

We did support XPI files on the wiki at one time--I remember it. Maybe we lost the settings when we upgraded MediaWiki.

Anyway, any feedback from the beta yet?

Just installed it, and it seems fine, and I confirm it does now work with netflix again...

Thanks Eric!

Here is the banking website "https://ibank.pcs-sd.net/onlinebanking5/login.r?t-bank=xxx", which in XP won't activate PasswordMaker. The xxx is replaced with the routing number of the bank.

Are you saying it still doesn't work with the new 1.7.3beta?

Installed 1.7.3b1. It still won't fill in anything.

Well, since I can't even get the site to come up, not much I (or anyone else) can do to help...
