Saving setting with localy stored page
« on: July 18, 2006, 10:36:13 PM »
I have downloaded a copy of online version for use with Safari. Instructions state I should be able to save all the settings. Yet if I close the page and reload everything is lost. I am not doing anything to block cookies. I see the same problem with omniweb.
os x 10.4.6

Safari and Omniweb may be blocking local cookies anyway, for whatever reason that may not be apparent right now. As I don't have a Mac, I can only guess

If it's like IE, then there may be zones you can set up and local pages are not in a zone that allow cookies (or Javascript from saving them)

Seth, when you use the online version here, does it save settings? If so, then your browser isn't saving cookies for local pages. I don't know how to configure Safari to save cookies for local pages, but you can always host the page on a web server of your own... or search google on how to get Safari to write/store cookies for local files.

Regards,
Eric
